Description
In Two Voices, two large curved forms seem to respond to each other on either side of a central axis. They evolve in a construction made of superimpositions, interruptions, and passages between straight and curved lines.
The warm whites, the deep burgundies, the muted blues, the greens, the ochres, and the terracotta compose a dense but contained palette. Some forms prolong themselves, others oppose or echo each other, giving the composition its particular rhythm.
The title introduces a musical reference without imposing a literal reading. Like two distinct voices in the same score, the forms maintain their autonomy while participating in a common construction.
The successive layers, the scrapes, and the reprises reveal the traces of the material’s work and deliberately break the rigor of geometry.
Framed and ready to be hung.
