Description
Deauville beach under stormy skies and its lights so special to Normandy Landscape, marine, between sky and sea, treated with oil and knife. Sky and sea end up merging. Capturing the present moment, the light of the moment so fleeting and changing, such is the challenge of the artist. The multiple layers of material patiently elaborate the transparencies from which the lights spring. the artist strives to translate the movement of clouds, the variations of light and air. Figurative painting approaching impressionism. This painting is framed with an American box in natural wood. Signed lower right
