Description
En encadrant ne prends pas le rose is a large, expressive face painted with raw energy. Two wide red eyes circled in black stare out of a head built from thick strokes of turquoise, grey, pink and violet, with a mouth and jaw drawn in bold black loops. The painting has the spontaneity of art brut: the gestures are fast and direct, and the colours are laid down without hesitation. Nep turns the portrait into a vivid, intense presence that holds the viewer’s gaze.
