Description
Landscape, marine, between sky and sea, painting of a beach in Normandy with a cloudy sky treated with oil and knife. Sky and sea end up merging. Capturing the present moment, the light of the moment so fleeting and changing, such is the challenge of the artist. The multiple layers of matter patiently elaborate the transparencies from which the lights spring. the artist strives to translate the movement of clouds, the variations of light and air. Figurative painting approaching impressionism. This painting is framed with an American black wooden box. Signed lower right.
