Description
Framed in black American box (or natural wood on request). Original signed artwork – Certificate of authenticity – Ready to hang.
In , Sophie Dumont orchestrates a lush and rhythmic composition that evokes the colorful shelves of an imaginary library. Here, books are not to be read but to be felt: they become volumes, colors, surfaces, silences. Each block seems to contain a fragment of history, a vibrant memory.
The square format reinforces the stability of the whole, while the alternation of vertical slices and elongated formats energizes the surface. The palette is rich: reds, intense blues, pale pinks, golden ochres, matte blacks, muted grays… The whole is structured but lively, orderly without being rigid.
The material is applied with a knife, in dense layers, sometimes with subtle collages or textural effects. We don’t know if we’re looking at a display case, a mosaic, or a score. offers us just that: a visual stroll between the colors of knowledge, the rhythms of memory, and the silent pleasure of being surrounded by books.
