Beschrijving
This circular work, or tondo, illustrates the serenity of a pond with water lilies. Two white lotus flowers emerge gracefully from among the leaves, symbolizing purity and tranquility. The shades of green and turquoise in the leaves contrast beautifully with the subtle reflections in the still water. Soft contours and delicate shadows add depth and evoke a soft, diffused light. The artist precisely captures the elegance of the water’s reflections, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The concentric circles on the water’s surface suggest gentle movement, infusing the composition with subtle dynamism. This painting is an homage to the beauty of nature, encouraging the viewer to contemplate simplicity and harmony.
