Beschrijving
Sapphire sets a block of gold calligraphy at the centre of a deep blue field. All around, darker blue letter-forms cover the surface in a dense, regular pattern, like a textile or a page of script. The gold square at the heart of the work, made of tight, flowing strokes, catches the light and draws the eye, like a jewel in its setting. An ink on canvas that brings together calligraphy, ornament and colour.
