Description
In Ce qui demeure, Sophie Dumont offers a sensitive and refined reading of the library, not as a descriptive place, but as a mental and memorial structure.
The vertical forms, reminiscent of book spines, are arranged in a rhythmic composition where muted shades—greys, off-whites, blues, ochres—converse with a dense, layered texture. Repetition creates a sense of stability, while subtle chromatic variations infuse the whole with a delicate vibrancy.
This work is fully in line with the artist’s exploration of time, traces, and permanence. More than a library, it is an interior, silent space where what remains resists the passage of time.
Frame color options: natural wood or black (collector’s choice)
