Description
Conversion explores a language of architectural and organic forms that seem to approach, respond to, and mutually transform each other. Vertical lines, curves, and circular elements compose an ambiguous presence, halfway between silent figures, objects, and fragments of architecture.
Deep blacks structure a subtle palette of ivory, powdered pink, dull green, burnt orange, burgundy, and earthy brown. Worked by successive superimpositions, the material reveals the traces of the knife, the rubs, and the irregularities that give the surface its depth and vibration.
The title Conversion evokes the passage from one state to another: one form modifies the perception of the one that accompanies it, while each color contributes to the overall balance. The composition thus associates geometric rigor, inner movement, and sensitive presence.
