Description
In Double jeu, Sophie Dumont organizes the composition around shared circles, interrupted curves, and diagonals. The shapes respond to each other without closing on a single reading: the same line seems to belong to several sets, shifting the balances as the eye moves.
The cream and bluish-gray tones open up the space, while the dull greens, ochre, and burgundy structure the rhythm. The meeting between the curves and the angular planes creates a measured tension, characteristic of the Interior Architectures series.
Worked with knife and brush, the oil is built by successive layers. Superimpositions, scrapes, and reprises allow the previous colors to show through and give the geometric shapes a sensitive depth.
Framed in a picture rail, natural or black wood. Original work signed, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
