Description
Sophie Dumont explores the dynamic interplay between shapes and frames, offering an abstract composition that plays with perspective and balance. This 54 x 54 cm oil on canvas is a study in geometric abstraction, where the placement of frames and shapes invites the viewer to engage with the work on multiple levels.
The composition is both structured and fluid, with overlapping shapes and varied textures creating a sense of depth and movement. The use of a rich colour palette, including earthy tones, vibrant greens and warm oranges, enhances the visual appeal, while the subtle interplay of light and shadow adds an additional layer of complexity.
Jeu de frames captures the essence of creative exploration, where boundaries are both defined and blurred. The framed elements in the painting suggest the idea of a work within a work, creating a dialogue between internal and external spaces. Sophie Dumont’s skillful use of shapes and colours transforms this piece into a celebration of abstract expression, inviting viewers to explore the relationships between shapes, colours and textures.
