Description
Exclusive to Belart Gallery.
This painting emerges from the raw energy of the Moroccan backcountry. A self-taught vision defines the composition. Bold black strokes collide with a stark white ground. The gesture is immediate. It feels primordial. The artwork bypasses traditional academic codes. It draws from a deep, telluric strength. Black oil drips and stains create a rhythmic dance across the surface. This approach mirrors a trance-like state. It connects the artist to an animist ancestral world. The forms oscillate between abstraction and suggestion. Distorted shapes overlap in a dizzying swirl. One can sense the presence of a familiar spirit guiding the brush. It is a dialogue between the soil and the canvas. The result is an intense, visceral expression. The composition rejects the straight line. It embraces a winding, intuitive course. This 2020 piece stands as a testament to a singular artistic identity. It blends dripping techniques with a profound cosmic energy. The final impact rests in the heavy contrast of the monochromatic palette.
