Description
Frame: American box in black or natural wood, your choice.
In Lumière d’atelier, Sophie Dumont depicts a stylized artist’s interior, where the easel, table, window, and vase are part of a rhythmic geometric composition. The painting plays on the mise en abyme with a canvas painted within the canvas, evoking reflection, the gaze, and creation.
The flat tints of color—ochre, deep blue, warm brown, and matte black—structure the space while allowing the material to vibrate. Inspired by post-cubism, the artist constructs an intimate space where each form becomes a sign. A work that is both architectural and sensitive, questioning the memory of the place and the act of painting.
