Description
Towards Balance is an oil on canvas measuring 100 x 100 cm created by the contemporary French painter Sophie Dumont.
Through a play of interlocking geometric shapes, curves, and structuring verticals, the artist constructs a composition where each element seems to seek its rightful place. Deep reds, intense blues, muted greens, and ivory tones converse in a subtle balance between tension and harmony.
Neither entirely abstract nor truly architectural, the work evokes an interior space, a mental landscape where forms are organized like fragments of a thought in motion. Circles and semicircles punctuate the composition and create points of respite within a rigorous yet vibrant whole.
Created in successive layers of oil paint, the painting reveals delicate variations in material and depth that enrich the geometry with a sensitive and poetic dimension.
