Description
In “Vestige d’Horizon”, Sophie Dumont delivers a work where abstraction becomes a space for contemplation, an invitation to navigate between the layers of a fragmented and sublimated reality. On this 80 x 80 cm canvas, the artist deploys a palette dominated by intense blues, ochres and deep blacks, structured in horizontal bands that evoke both stability and infinity.
The horizon, the central notion of the work, is hidden and recomposed according to the contrasts of hues and textures. The superimposed layers and chromatic ruptures give the impression of a landscape that does not belong to any specific place, but rather to a collective, universal memory. The title, “Vestige d’Horizon”, suggests that this horizon is not only a border between sky and earth, but a memory, a trace left by time and space.
