Beschrijving
“Interior Composition” is a remarkable work by contemporary artist Sophie Dumont, executed in oil on a 60 x 60 cm canvas with a knife technique. This painting immerses us in an abstract and stylized universe, representing an interior scene rich in shapes and colors.
The composition is dominated by sharp lines and blocks of bright colors, such as red, blue, green and shades of beige. These geometric elements unfold harmoniously across the canvas, creating a captivating visual dynamic that draws the eye and encourages exploration.
At the center of the work, abstract shapes evoke elements of a domestic interior, such as books, a table and everyday objects. These objects are presented in a stylized manner, suggesting their presence rather than representing them literally. This abstraction allows a focus on the interactions between shapes and colors, providing a new perspective on familiar spaces and objects.
The knife technique used by Dumont imparts a rich texture to the surface of the canvas, adding tactile and visual depth to the work. Each stroke of the knife brings subtle variations in light and shadow, reinforcing the impression of three-dimensionality and bringing the composition to life. This textured approach enriches the visual experience, inviting the viewer to discover the painting’s multiple layers and details.
