Beschrijving
Frame: black or natural wood (collector’s choice)
In Literary Composition, Sophie Dumont revisits the library motif by playing on the balance between rigor and freedom. The books, simplified into colorful volumes, stand in a rare breath, leaving the empty space with an almost architectural function.
The palette combines the softness of beiges and grays with the brightness of reds and ochres, creating a subtle tension between warmth and sobriety. The oil and knife work reveals layers of material that give the surface depth and density, while maintaining great formal readability.
This work offers a meditation on order and disorder, memory and absence, where each volume becomes a fragment of visual writing.
