Beschrijving
Sophie Dumont develops here a geometric abstraction built around a play of balances between curved forms, architectural lines, and superimposed fields of color. Executed in oil on canvas, the work unfolds a warm palette of ochres, red earths, deep blacks, and softened grays, creating a subtle tension between structure and movement.
The forms seem to respond to one another like fragments of a silent language. Arcs and semicircles establish a fluid circulation within the pictorial space, while geometric planes anchor the composition in a more architectural structure. Sophie Dumont works through successive superimpositions, revealing traces, transparencies, and vibrations of matter that lend depth and breath to the whole.
This work testifies to the recent evolution of his work towards a more refined and constructed abstraction, while retaining the tactile sensitivity and chromatic richness characteristic of his painting.
