Beschrijving
In Les veilleurs d’ombre, Sophie Dumont presents a stylized library in deep tones: midnight blue, blacks, warm browns, ochres, and ivory. A few accents of red enliven the composition, like bursts of life in the darkness.
Each book seems a silent presence, guardian of a buried memory. The use of the knife and oil gives the surface a tactile and vibrant density, where the textures suggest the thickness of time as much as that of the material.
This work explores the boundary between abstraction and figuration, transforming the library into a mysterious, almost sacred space, where shadow watches and light can be glimpsed.
