Beschrijving
Lumière d’Horizon is an oil on canvas painting by Sophie Dumont, created in 2026. In this abstract composition dominated by deep blues, the artist constructs an inner landscape evoking both the sea horizon, the night light, and the memory of spaces traversed.
Broad horizontal bands structure the surface, while freer vibrations appear at the center of the composition, creating a subtle interplay between stability and movement. The contrasts between electric blues, velvety blacks, and luminous whites reinforce the silent depth of the work.
Through its economy of means and chromatic tension, this painting reflects Sophie Dumont’s current exploration of minimalist landscapes and luminous layers. The transparent application of paint reveals multiple layers and pictorial accidents, lending the canvas a presence that is both contemporary and meditative.
