Beschrijving
Framed in a black or natural wood American-style box.
Through this refined composition built in broad horizontal layers, Sophie Dumont evokes a maritime landscape reduced to its essentials: a horizon line, bands of light, deep masses where sky, sea and sand mingle.
Intense blues, velvety blacks, patinated whites, and luminous ochres create a silent and meditative atmosphere. Worked in successive layers of oil paint, the material reveals traces of erasure, rubbing, and irregularities that give the work its full, sensitive depth.
Between abstraction and landscape memory, this canvas reflects Sophie Dumont’s ongoing exploration of the memory of places, the erosion of time, and the vibrations of light. The apparent simplicity of the composition allows a strong pictorial presence to emerge, conveyed by the rhythm of the layers and the richness of the textures.
Unique artwork created with oil on canvas. Sold with a certificate of authenticity. Choice of black or natural wood frame.
