Beschrijving
This painting, made in oil and knife on linen canvas, deploys a symphony of horizontal lines that invite the viewer on an inner journey. The composition features subtly superimposed layers of color, ranging from intense black to deep blue, including touches of ochre and terracotta, which seem to evoke an abstract vision of the horizon. Knife work brings a rich and vibrant texture, giving the surface an almost tactile quality. Each stroke of the knife creates delicate reliefs, reflecting light differently depending on the angle, adding a unique depth. This technique reinforces the contrast between dark colours and brighter shades, accentuating the density of each hue. This “Landscape of the Soul” is similar to an exploration of the inner world. The layers of color symbolize emotional layers, intimate landscapes where shadow and light meet.
