Beschrijving
With Topographie du rêve (Topography of the Dream), Sophie Dumont explores an inner territory where forms seem to emerge from memory and imagination. The artist moves away from her stylized libraries to give way to a more organic, intimate, and sensitive space — like a mental map where fragments, sensations, and memories settle.
Rounded volumes, colored masses, and soft lines intertwine in a composition that evokes a dreamlike landscape. Terracotta, warm browns, muted greens, and veiled whites make up a soft, almost silent palette, conducive to contemplation. The subtle transitions between forms create an inner movement, inviting the eye to circulate smoothly, as if tracing a dream.
Executed entirely in oil with a palette knife, the surface presents fine traces, light reliefs, and superimposed nuances that give the whole a delicately tactile presence. The work does not seek to represent, but to suggest — to let the viewer’s mind project its own resonances.
Topographie du Rêve is a poetic and introspective work that will bring a refined atmosphere to a contemporary interior, whether minimalist or design-oriented.
Technical Details Framing: Natural wood floating frame (caisse américaine) (or black upon request). Details: Original signed artwork – Certificate of Authenticity provided.
