Description
In Bergamo Alta, Antonino Puliafico transforms the breath of the city into a chromatic symphony shaped by bold, diagonal strokes. The urban skyline unfolds beneath a moving sky, animated by streaks of light that seem to dance above domes and bell towers. Deep blues and greens rise from the architecture, while warm tones and violets diffuse through the vibrant surface of the composition.
The richly textured surface embodies the strength of palette-knife painting, where gesture and color merge into rhythm. Puliafico reinvents the historic upper city as a pulsating organism, evoking both memory and identity of the Italian urban landscape.
This work resonates strongly within contemporary Italian art, presenting a textured oil on canvas of remarkable visual intensity. Bergamo Alta is more than representation—it is vision: a dialogue between architecture and nature, between sky and stone, making it an exceptional choice for exhibitions and international collections.
