Description
In Lisière du silence (Edge of Silence), Sophie Dumont offers a refined composition built around horizontal strata and delicate nuances. The work evokes an interior landscape reduced to the essential, where matter and color establish a climate of calm and restraint.
The palette, dominated by nuanced greys, luminous beiges, and subtle ochre touches, creates a silent and meditative atmosphere. Successive layers of oil paint grant the surface a sensitive depth, while horizontal lines structure the space without ever weighing it down. This piece fully inhabits the artist’s current exploration of abstract landscapes and the notion of the threshold, between presence and erasure. It is an intimate and balanced work, ideal for a contemporary interior, whether alone or as part of a collection.
A contemporary French painter, Sophie Dumont works primarily with oil on canvas, layering to create compositions where matter, light, and rhythm play a central role. She has been exhibiting for over twenty years in France and internationally, and her works are held in numerous private collections.
Framing options: Natural wood or black wood floater frame (caisse américaine). Certificate of authenticity included.
