Description
Mr Monopoly cruising on Lake Bruges, also known as the “Venice of the North”, the iconic character is depicted sailing on a luxurious yacht, surrounded by the trappings of wealth and success. Richie Rich, meanwhile, joins the adventure with a relaxed assurance, ignoring all money worries. Yet the title of the work, “Success is Stressful,” is an ironic message that underscores the often hidden costs of wealth and power. Despite the glitz and glamor of the scene, there is an underlying tension and unease. The exaggerated features and cartoonish imagery of the characters serve to highlight the absurdity and excess of the situation. The painting invites viewers to question the nature of success and the costs associated with the pursuit of wealth and power.
