Description
In Faro del nord (“Northern Lighthouse”), Antonino Puliafico reimagines the maritime landscape through the freshness of acrylics and the expressive force of the palette knife. The composition revolves around the lighthouse and coastal houses, immersed in an atmosphere alive with wind and light. The sky, built with sweeping impasto strokes, unfolds in iridescent clouds, while the foreground vegetation and flowers introduce a vivid chromatic counterpoint.
The surface is dynamic and textured, created with rhythmic energy: an emblematic example of palette-knife painting that fuses gesture with Mediterranean sensibility. Reflections on the water amplify the palette, multiplying colors into a luminous echo across the canvas.
This work embodies Puliafico’s vision within contemporary Italian art, transforming reality into a powerful textured acrylic on canvas. Balancing landscape and abstraction, Faro del nord stands as a distinctive piece for collectors and modern interiors alike.
