Description
Mirror at sunset captures the quiet intensity of a tree standing at the edge of water, mirrored by a vivid reflection that doubles its presence and emotional weight. The swirling sky, painted with energetic palette-knife strokes, blends warm sunset tones with cooler blues and greens, amplifying the sense of movement in the scene.
The reflection below is not a simple duplicate: it transforms into an abstract echo, fragmented and vibrant, as if the water were translating light into pure chromatic energy. Thick impasto layers give the surface a sculptural feel, allowing viewers to experience the artwork from multiple angles as light shifts across the paint.
This piece exemplifies Puliafico’s expressive approach within contemporary Italian art, offering a dynamic textured oil on canvas with strong visual and emotional presence. A statement artwork ideal for modern interiors, collectors, and design-focused spaces.
Materials Used (Short Technical Version)
Professional DI VOLO oil colors applied with palette knife on Gesso-primed cotton canvas for maximum adhesion and long-term impasto durability.
